blepo has been recognised by British publication Real Estate Insider as “PropTech & Property Inspection Company of the Year – Oeiras 2026” The Portuguese property inspection company receives international recognition just months after launching its operations, reinforcing blepo commitment to independence, technology and transparency in the real estate market.
The recognition comes just a few months after blepo began operating and represents a particularly significant milestone for a company founded with the ambition of transforming the way buyers, property owners and investors understand and assess properties before making decisions.
The distinction is part of the 2026 Real Estate Insider Awards, an international programme recognising companies, projects and professionals that stand out in the real estate sector, particularly in innovation, technology, sustainability, quality and performance.
For blepo, the award is even more meaningful because it comes from an internationally recognised specialist publication and at such an early stage in the company’s journey.
International recognition for a Portuguese company

Real Estate Insider, a British publication dedicated to the real estate sector, identified blepo as part of its work analysing and recognising innovative companies in the property market.
The Portuguese company was selected in the PropTech & Property Inspection Company of the Year category, a distinction that brings together two core areas of blepo’s positioning: technology applied to real estate (PropTech) and independent technical property inspection.
On its dedicated page for blepo, Real Estate Insider highlights the need for greater independent technical information before decisions involving the purchase, sale or rental of a property. The publication also emphasises blepo’s independent position in relation to estate agencies and its use of a nationwide network of architects and engineers, supported by technical processes and standardised criteria.

“Receiving this recognition so early in our journey makes us naturally very proud. blepo was created to address what we see as a very specific problem: there is a huge information asymmetry in the real estate market and, very often, people make decisions involving hundreds of thousands of euros without truly knowing the condition of the property they are buying.”
“We do not simply want to inspect properties. We want to change the way people buy property.”

blepo’s proposition is built on a simple principle: before buying a home, it is essential to understand its technical condition.
A property viewing allows a buyer to understand its location, size, sun exposure, layout and apparent condition. A professional property inspection goes much further, identifying signs of defects, construction anomalies, moisture problems, deficiencies, deterioration, risks and other issues that may not be readily identified by a buyer during a conventional viewing.

This is where blepo aims to position itself.
The company does not market properties or represent buyers or sellers in a transaction. Its role is exclusively to technically assess the property and provide independent information, enabling the client to make a more informed decision.
This independence is, in fact, one of the elements highlighted by Real Estate Insider in its presentation of the company.
PropTech applied to property inspection
The award presented to blepo combines two concepts at the heart of the transformation of the real estate sector: PropTech and property inspection.
Technology has been profoundly changing the way properties are marketed, financed, managed and transacted. For blepo, this transformation should also extend to the way information about the physical condition of properties is collected, analysed and made available.
The company aims to develop a new generation of property diagnosis services, combining engineering, architecture, technical processes, technology and structured information.
The objective is to make property inspection more rigorous, consistent and understandable, creating an experience that turns a complex technical assessment into an effective decision-support tool.
An award based on innovation, impact and merit

According to the organisers of the Real Estate Insider Awards, winners are assessed based on factors including innovation, market impact, sustainability, contribution to the community and adaptability.

The assessment process uses public information gathered by the publication’s research team, complemented by verified evidence provided by nominees. The organisation also states that it follows a merit-based approach, seeking to recognise winners for their contributions rather than popularity or public voting.

For a company with such a short operating history, this makes the distinction particularly significant.

“There is an important difference between seeking an award and being recognised for what we are building. For us, this recognition has special value precisely because it came so early and because it validates a vision we have had since day one: independent property diagnosis should be a natural part of the home-buying process.”

The real estate market needs more independent information
For most families, buying a property is one of the most important financial decisions of their lives. Despite this, independent technical assessment of a property is still not as naturally embedded in the buying process as other steps, such as bank valuation, legal due diligence or estate agency services.
blepo aims to help change this reality.
The company believes buyers should have access to objective technical information before making a long-term financial commitment.
An independent property inspection can help identify existing problems, anticipate intervention needs and provide a clearer understanding of a property’s condition — information that can be relevant both to the purchase decision and to negotiating and planning future works or maintenance.
It is an approach that places technical knowledge and transparency at the heart of the property decision-making process.
Oeiras as the starting point for a national ambition
The distinction awarded by Real Estate Insider specifically recognises blepo as PropTech & Property Inspection Company of the Year – Oeiras 2026, linking the company to Oeiras’ business and technology ecosystem.
But blepo’s ambition extends beyond the municipality where it was founded.
The company is developing an operation supported by a nationwide network of professionals, seeking to establish consistent criteria and methodologies for property inspection and diagnosis across Portugal. Real Estate Insider itself highlights this operational capability through a national network of architects and engineers.
The vision is clear: to establish a benchmark in Portugal for independent property inspection, with a technological and scalable approach capable of keeping pace with the growing sophistication of the domestic and international real estate markets.
An award that comes at the beginning of the journey

For the blepo team, the award does not represent a destination, but rather confirmation that the company is moving in a direction that matters to the future of the sector.
“We are extremely proud. But this award does not change who we are or what we want to build. On the contrary, it increases our responsibility. We still have a great deal to do, a great deal of technology to develop, many properties to inspect and, above all, many people to help make more informed decisions.”
The Real Estate Insider distinction therefore represents the first international recognition of a Portuguese company seeking to transform a concept that is still relatively new in Portugal — independent property diagnosis — into an essential component of the real estate decision-making process.
For blepo, the message is simple: Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions we can make. Before deciding, we need to know exactly what we are buying.
